Trampoline Safety Precautions

Safety precautions surrounding the use of your trampoline are very important.  By following some guidelines combined with common sense, the incidence of injury on your trampoline can be minimized.

Here are some Suggested Rules*

  1. Master the Stop Bounce before progressing to other skills.  Perform the Stop Bounce after every skill or sequence of skills.
  2. Always climb on and climb off your trampoline, never jump off the apparatus.
  3. Keep your bouncing low and under control.  Consistently land in the centre of the trampoline.
  4. Allow only one person on the trampoline at a time.
  5. Do not leave children unsupervised on the trampoline.
  6. Avoid bouncing for long periods of time and do not bounce when you are tired.
  7. Do not use your trampoline when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  8. Ensure that spotters are always stationed around the trampoline.
  9. Do not use your trampoline as a springing device to get onto other things.
  10. Do not bounce in poor lighting or in the dark.
  11. Progress at your own speed and use logical progressions.  Do not attempt a skill until you have mastered the necessary prerequisites and progressions.
  12. Do not attempt back flips (back somersaults), multiple somersaults or twisting somersaults on your backyard trampoline.

Keep in mind these are SUGGESTED rules.  You must use your own common sense.
Remember, stay safe and have fun!
