Once You’ve Got it – Set it Up Right!
May 26, 2011 | Filled under Trampoline Setup |
Now that you’ve bought the TRAMPOLINE of your dreams it’s time to set it up right! One of the most important aspects of this is stabilizing it properly.
Depending on how soft the ground is beneath your trampoline, you may experience some settling of the frame in the grass or soil. This settling could cause the trampoline to become lopsided and unstable.
As a precautionary measure, place cement blocks beneath the supports of your trampoline. Wooden blocks a minimum of 4″ (or 10 cm) thick will also work; plywood is NOT recommended as the force created by the trampolinist will split and break thin sheets of wood.
Whether you decide to use wood or cement blocks, leave an outcrop of 6″ (or 15 cm) around the supports as the trampoline will shift slightly. Be sure to check your bases periodically to ensure that the trampoline has not slipped off.
