Time to De-Stress

Stress hits everyone, it is almost unavoidable with today’s pressures and demands.  womenshealth.gov says:

“feeling stressed for a long time can take a toll on your mental and physical health. Even though it may seem hard to find ways to de-stress with all the things you have to do, it’s important to find those ways. Your health depends on it.”

womenshealth.about.com says:

“Look around. One of ten people you see at work, at the store, and wherever you go in your daily life is over stressed at any given moment. Scientists agree that stress causes actual chemical changes in the brain, and these changes can influence the state of your health.”

“What are the most common causes of stress?”

“Stress happens when people feel like they don’t have the tools to manage all of the demands in their lives. Stress can be short-term or long-term. Missing the bus or arguing with your spouse or partner can cause short-term stress. Money problems or trouble at work can cause long-term stress. Even happy events, like having a baby or getting married can cause stress.”

 

Now that we all know what stress is (like you didn’t already know) we thought we’d take a little time today to talk about de-stressing! :)

From de-stress.ca we found a list of amazing de-stressors, but these are our favorites:

  • Eat healthy

  • Accept the moment as it is

  • Dance, run, skip, walk!

  • Try music

  • Use humour

  • Let go of having a perfect life

  • Make time to connect with friends

and, Super-Fun’s PERSONAL favorite

  • Find time to play!

Get out there, and have some fun, jump on your trampoline! Forget about the world, even just for 5 minutes, and see what a difference it makes!!
